How We Got Here
1. Diabetes is a chronic disease. It requires lifelong management. If not well controlled, it puts the individual living with diabetes at risk for stroke, kidney disease, vision loss, leg amputation, dental caries, yeast infections, and many more complications.
2. Diabetes and its associated illnesses, such as high blood pressure and elevated cholesterol, may be without any symptoms for a long period of time. In most cases, it might have caused some damage by the time the affected person begins to notice or have symptoms.
3. Many people have died and many more are dying due to diabetes-related issues. Some of these diabetes-related illnesses are preventable and manageable only if people know how.
Having lived with Type 1 diabetes for over 2 decades with no complications and seeing how people from different races and backgrounds struggle to manage diabetes has led me to establish a social media platform creating an awareness about diabetes prevention and management. A platform that has been viewed by some thousands of people.
The reason above has also led to the establishment of CoreCare Diabetes Education LLC with a mission to help people around the world reaching their diabetes goal.
